Role: Lead Designer
Responsible for UI/UX & Design Systems for admin apps, an internal mobile app and a client-facing website
Understanding SIRUM’s system
At the time, SIRUM’s main source of truth was a spreadsheet
The spreadsheet worked, but there were some issues:
actions that affected other departments needed more friction
spreadsheet was overwhelming
filtering information was difficult
Replacing the spreadsheet
We kept the table, but made it smarter and more efficient
We pared the information down to the essentials and tucked everything else into a sidepanel. Instead of requiring multiple tabs, key workflows could be executed from the table.
Modernizing the inventory system
Their last app required too many clicks and wasn’t compatible with their new sorting machine
We rethought their inventory system by improving keyboard navigation, drug or shipment searches, and the drug scanning and sorting processes
rethinking the picking app
The picking app is what SIRUM uses to choose the right meds from their inventory to add to donations
We updated it to improve the following processes:
account switching/sign-in
barcode scanning
tracking item movements
multi-selection
label printing
Creating the donor portal
We created a site for partner orgs to manage their shipments and supplies
